Detailed day wise Sightseeing Plan -

Day 1 - Arrive at Cochin International Airport/ Ernakulam Railway Station and proceed to Munnar. It is 139 km away from Cochin, the journey through the high mountain ranges takes around 04 Hours of Overnight stay at Munnar Hotel.
Travel Tip Arrival time at cochin should be before 2 PM to avoid the Ghat roads in the late evening.

Day 2 -After breakfast go for a sightseeing trip of Munnar - Mattupetty Lake & Dam, Echo Point, Pothamedu View Point, Photo Point, Kundala Lake, Blossom Garden, Eravikulam Wildlife sanctuary, home of Nilgiri Tahr( very rare mountain goat)
Travel Tip Eravikulam Sanctuary is closed in Feb and March every year.

Day 3 - After breakfast checks out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady. The travel time is around 3 hours 30minutes for a travel distance of 98 km. Here one can go for Boating at Periyar Sanctuary or Elephant Ride or Spice Plantation visit or Cultural Centre to watch the Kathakali dance or Kalariyapattu performance.

Travel Trip It is advisable to pre-book the boating ticket inside the Periyar wildlife sanctuary.

Day 4 - In Alleppey, you can stay either in the Houseboat or Hotel. The Journey from Thekkady to Alleppey takes Around 3 Hours to cover 150 Kms.
Houseboat Overnight Stay - In Kerala Style Traditional House Boat to discover the natural beauty of Kerala backwaters.
Hotel Stay - check-in the hotel and go for the Shikara boat ride, evening visit the Alleppey beach. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Travel Trip - Shikara boat ride taken either the sunset cruise or Sunrise cruise. The idle duration for the Shikara boat ride is 2 Hours. The shikra boats charge on an hourly basis.

Day 5 -After breakfast, check out the houseboat/Hotel and leave to Cochin. Travel time is 1 hour 30 minutes for a distance of 53 Km's. In cochin, visit Fort Kochi - (Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishnet) Marine Drive, Lulu Mall Biggest Mall in India. In the evening, proceed to the airport/Ernakulam Railway station. End of tour with sweet memories
Travel Tip Departure time from cochin should be in the evening. So that you can visit the Cochin sightseeing during the day.

Additional Sightseeing to visit along this Itinerary depending on individual choice

Visiting Athirapally Waterfalls - The visit to Athirapally can be done on the first day of the Trip while proceeding to Munnar or on the Last Day of the Trip while coming back from Alleppey.
Travel Tip If the visit to Athirapally is on day one, then the arrival time in Cochin needs to be in the morning. As the travel time Cochin to Athirapally is around 2 hours and from Athirappally to Munnar is 4 Hours.

Guruvayoor Temple - Lord Krishna Temple - popularly called Bhooloka Vaikuntam. The travel time from Cochin to Guruvayoor Temple is around 3 hours.

Kollukkumalai Jeep Safari, Munnar The safari can be done in the early morning to watch the Sunrise. The journey to this world's highest estate is on very rough road terrain.
